"While asana practice requires will to penetrate beyond our perceived limitations, it is only through surrender that we are able to reach the deeper layers of self knowledge. In the eight-limbed path of ashtanga yoga, effort and surrender are both listed as essential elements in practice. In this weekend of yoga, we will explore how to balance both qualities in our asana and pranayama practice and how tension and weakness in the body can be transformed through this balance in order to experience freedom on and off the mat.
