The Iyengar Yoga Institute of San Francisco has moved to a beautiful new space in a central San Francisco location: 2201 Sutter St (see below). This excellent location will enable us to take our mission of making The Institute a beacon for excellence in yoga education to the next level.
Parking in and around the neighborhood
There are two-hour residential parking spots, 2- and 4-hour metered parking that can be paid with the PaybyPhone app or a credit card, many unlimited meters, nearby parking garages, and free residential parking near by or 4-5 blocks on the other side of Geary. On weekends the two-hour residential parking is unlimited! We think this is a pretty good list of options! Feel free to call our front desk at (415) 753-0909 if you have questions about parking or transportation.
Can I ride my bike?
YES! Absolutely! We very much encourage bike-riding. We are in the process of getting a bike corral installed in front of our studio. Until then, please make sure to bring a secure u-lock when biking to IYISF and consult this bike route map if you need good directions. And remember, the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition has finally secured a 24/7 bikes-on-BART law, so you can now “bike” across the bay any time you want!
What public transportation options are there?
Many MUNI buses stop near our Institute, including the 1-California, 3-Jackson, 22-Fillmore, 24-Divisadero, 38-Geary and the 43-Masonic. Check MUNI bus schedules and routes here. Additionally, you can take any underground train or BART to Civic Center, Powell or Montgomery stations and either walk, bike, or take a quick bus ride to IYISF.
Below is an interactive map that highlights the transportation routes for getting to the new location. Click the Green Marker and “Get Directions” in the below map to find driving, public transit, bike and walking directions to the new Institute.
